Everyone in blogosphere is talking about the Bersih Rally, so I think I'll do that as well. Join the bandwagon.
I was in KL on Saturday 9 July 2011. It was a very pleasant experience, because the Federal Highway was easy as a breeze and the shopping malls were stress-free. Ample parking space, no need to jostle with shoppers. I was on a shopping trip, and I had a mission to accomplish. Nevermind fighting for the betterment of my country.
Frankly, I didn't think Bersih would have any impact on the idealisms they are fighting for. But I think it made the Government sit up and take notice. Frankly, I am really sad at the state Malaysia is in now. Now I know why people always say that Malaysians and Singaporeans are rivals, etc etc. To tell you the truth, Malaysians are welcomed into Singapore with open arms. Seldom(maybe never) do I a derogatory or racist remark uttered against me or fellow Malaysians by another Singaporean in Singapore. I think the so-called rivalry is actually one-sided, that is Malaysia Government against Singapore. We started at the same level, but 54years later, we have lagged so much behind. This is despite having plenty of land, natural resources and human talent. So much potential, yet kept backwards by leaders without wisdom.
I really love Malaysia (not KL, but Malaysia) and I want to see it shine with what God has blessed the land with. Political awakening starts by casting that vote.
